Chesa Michel / Bernina

Built in 1786, Chesa Michel is a historic Engadine house with six holiday apartments and two studios. Chesa Michel is a listed historical cultural monument and is located in the heart of the old, beautiful village centre of Bever.

The cozy 3.5 room holiday apartment Bernina with a living space of 96 m2 - for a maximum of 4 people – is refurbished in the traditional Engadine style and partially appointed with antique furniture. It is located on the ground-floor, right-hand side, has a small balcony and offers a view of the village center with the church and some long-distance views. The space allocation includes a beautiful vaulted kitchen, a large living room with an open fire place, a rustic Engadine parlour that can be used as a bedroom and/or living room as well as a spacious bedroom with a separate washbasin. The bathroom is efficiently equipped with a bathtub and a shower head.

All rooms are decorated with historic photographs, some partially in color, others in black
and white - all with reference to Bever and the Upper Engadine Region. Most photographs date back to the 1900s.
Further advantages of this apartment are: stone slab floors and parquet floor with underfloor heating and radiators as well as a nicely appointed kitchen with a large refrigerator, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. Additionally, free access to WLAN, ski room, washing machine and tumble dryer to be shared as well as additional storage room in the basement.

Multiple 1-3 room units available in the building: Unit numbers 870091 / 870097 / 870098 / 870099 / 870100 / 870101 / 870102.

Underground garage with 5 parking spaces (not suitable for SUVs with ski-box). There is another parking space in an underground garage nearby (suitable for SUVs with roof box). There are two parking spaces in front of the house and more outside by the train station. Dogs are welcome. We're a non-smoking house.

You can reach Pontresina and St. Moritz, as well as the lake by the same name in 10 minutes (10k). Celerina connects you to the skiing region Corviglia/Piz Nair and is only seven kilometers away. The bus stop and the supermarket are located approx. 150 meters away while the station is approx. 400 meters away from Chesa Michel. The Engadine region is easily accessible by bus and train. Thus it is well worth taking a break from using your car as well during your most pleasant days of the year!

Excursion possibilities: What mountains. What lakes. What light! Whether on the 580km (360 miles) of hiking paths strewn over all the mountains or by mountain bike along 400km (250 miles) of fabulous trails: the Upper Engadin offers a superb network of paths and trails amidst an unspoilt Alpine landscape and the inspiring lake plateau. Three flow trails on the Corviglia guarantee a perfect flow. Equally popular among sports enthusiasts are the Upper Engadin lakes; kiting, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling – the possibilities are virtually endless. The expanse of the inspiring high-lying valley can be experienced in a particularly striking way on the two 18-hole golf courses in Samedan and Zuoz. And besides the wide range of sporting options, visitors can take advantage of the first-class cultural activities on offer, such as a visit to a museum or to one of the numerous art galleries in the various villages.
In winter, the ski areas of Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza and family-friendly Zuoz invite ski and snowboard enthusiasts to revel in 350 kilometres (218 miles) of the finest powder snow. Cross-country skiers will find over 220km (137 miles) of perfectly groomed trails in the Upper Engadin and the side valleys. The winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes are characterised by their light, sunshine and space amidst inspiring Alpine scenery. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths. Visitors who prefer to have everything in view, meanwhile, will delight in the breathtaking vistas on the panorama hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.
Families can bask in the Engadin sun during a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into the Val Roseg or Val Fex, or race down the mountainside into the valley on the winding, 4.2km (2.6 mile) long toboggan run on Muottas Muragl.

    “Nette Ferienwohnung Positiv: Das grosszügige Wohnzimmer mit den bequemen Ledersofas. Negativ: Wir haben die Lage der Wohnung als teilweise lärmig empfunden, vor allem früh morgens recht grosser Verkehr. Das kleine Badezimmer mit Badewanne als Dusche und Duschvorhang ist veraltet. Der antike Küchentisch (zwar hübsch) ist unbequem. Die Wohnung ist eher dunkel. Kein Kleiderschrank in der zum Schlafzimmer umfunktionierten zweiten Stube. Umgebung: Restaurant, tourist office - Kleiner VOLG im Dorf”

    “Sehr schöne, stimmig eingerichtete Ferienwohnung. Positiv: Das grosse Wohnzimmer ist sehr schön, und es hat alles, was man in einer Ferienwohnung benötigt, sogar einen Luftbefeuchtern. Negativ: Der Tisch in der Küche ist wunderschön aber unbrauchbar, weil er einen Unterbau hat, der das Sitzen am Tisch verhindert. Er ist zu tief und sollte ausgewechselt werden.”

    “Geräumige und gut aufgeteilte Erdgeschosswohnung in einem alten Engadinerhaus, das aufwendig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert wurde. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Besitzer und kompetente Verwalterin. Positiv: Sehr gute Küchenausstattung, bequeme Betten, offener Kamin mit Feuerholz, gute Lage im Ortskern, geschmackvolle und stilgerechte Einrichtung, W-LAN und Satelliten-TV, sehr guter und praktische Raumaufteilung, trotz Parterre freundlich und hell, dazu sehr gute Beleuchtungsmöglichkeiten der Zimmer, Skiraum im Eingangsbereich, zusätzlich nutzbare Räume im Kellerbereich, Negativ: teilweise sehr niedrige Türrahmen (autsch), sehr beengte Garage (speziell für größere Autos, Badezimmer war nicht beheizbar, rustikale Einrichtung verlangt stellenweise Kompromisse beim Sitzkomfort (Küchen-Esstisch und Stühle bzw.
