Mountain bike riders can experience pure riding fun on 20 tours - Freifahrt Eifel - with a total length of 500 km on signposted routes marked in 3 levels of difficulty.

Water sports enthusiasts will find numerous opportunities such as sailing, surfing or swimming at the nearby Rurtalsperre Schwammenmauel, one of the largest dams in Germany. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can enjoy a boat tour of the white Rursee fleet across the Eifel lake district and observe the surrounding green nature.

The Rur-Eifel and especially the red sandstone rocks are a hiker's paradise. Experience the silence of this untouched nature. Beginners of Nordic walking will find good conditions at the Nordic Walking Endurance School Rureifel in Nideggen.
A hike of a special kind is offered by the Biohof Knein in Nideggen: Families can take part in an alpaca hike there, supplemented by pony rides, tractor rides or animal feedings.
