Comfortable holiday house, featuring natural materials, in Mediterranean surroundings, with a big veranda and a wonderful sea view
This inviting, comfortable holiday house, with a lovely view of the Mediterranean, is about a five to ten-minute drive from the beach and is surrounded by olive and carob trees. It was recently completed, in 2012.It can accommodate a maximum of two couples and a teenager. The atmosphere is characterised by natural materials such as wood and stone, with Jerusalem stone on the terraces and floors, and the design combines a comfortable interior with the reality here on the island of Crete that most of the day is spent outdoors. The big living area occupies the whole of the first floor (kitchen, living room, office corner) and offers an ideal holiday atmosphere, characterised by togetherness and peace and quiet, as you wish. The big, fully-equipped kitchen makes it easy and enjoyable to self-cater. It provides a gas stove, fridge, kettle and all the necessary utensils for cooking and eating. There are two bedrooms with a double bed and a sleeping platform with an inflatable mattress. The bathroom has a shower, WC, washbasin and washing machine. There is also an additional WC.The exceptionally large veranda all around the house offers variations of sun, wind and shade, depending on the time of day, so there is always a comfortable spot. The view into the distance and the view of the sea invite you to relax and enjoy.The house was built by the owners with a view to sustainability, with a state-of-the-art solar panel system and an English ecological stove. All visitors so far have been impressed with the simply beauty and inviting style of the villa. As the garden is not yet fully mature, the owners are offering the house to let at good rates in 2017, but there are already some fruit trees and many herbs and some vegetables that you can harvest and use.If you do not feel like cooking at any time on your holiday, one of the best kafenions in the area, in the idyllic mountain village of Anidri, is a two-minute walk away. It offers an excellent combination of traditional, local dishes and healthy, creative, cosmopolitan cuisine, so some guests hardly use the kitchen in the house. The house provides a perfect base for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful, unspoilt region.
